The last couple of KS updates have been Backer-only. For those of you waiting for information on our newest Revised Reprint, Of Hunger and Lies, but did not back the KS, here’s a short update for you!
We are back in the office this week after a long winter of contract work to keep the office lights on. Another round of contracts looms on the horizon but we’re going to try and knock out all of the primary writing within the next couple of weeks. There will be a bit more to do, including edits, proofing, and layouts, as well as a possibility for more illustrations (we’ll know once the layouts are near completed), but most of that can be done after any future contract work begins. Right now, it’s all about writing.
The last backer-only update had a poll for backers, using the new KS poll option on updates. We asked about what backers might want to see on the reverse side of the fold-out poster map in the print version of the book because we might be able to fund a reverse print. The original KS was funded assuming only a single-sided print. What would go on the reverse was the poll question. The poll winner was a completely labeled map for PC use, in opposition to the KS plan of printing a location key / numbered only version of the printed map. We’ll ask at least one more focused question on the labeled map idea later. The PDF version of the map already has several different layers that can be toggled on and off depending on what the GM wants to display or print. So, creating any kind of reverse printed map is no problem at least in terms of design and production time. It’s only a matter of cost and of course the interest from the backers.
