Happy New Year!

This month/quarter's newsletter is really more of a "smoke test" than anything else. We wanted to make sure that all of you are able to get our updates and see what this actually looks like. So, please excuse the dust, if you will, we're still getting everything re-organized on the website front. But! Here are a few updates...

Kickstarter 3 is On The Way!

Although the timeline is still a little shaky, we expect KS 3: Beneath the Ghoul Lair to begin by the end of the month. It could be tomorrow, it could be next week, but it is coming... and soon!
Currently, the book is written and is in the golden hands of Nick who is editing and proofing it. We wanted to wait on launching the next project until we were sure that the text was much more solid. That way, we can get a better idea of the costs from our printer by having a more accurate page count.

The illustrations were pretty good already for the book so we'll keep most of those, but Ziti and Endless Slug will be adding a couple of new ones. We might bring another talented artist aboard on this one as well, but it depends on both funding and book size. We're trying to keep the book at about 36 or 40 pages. We originally asked The Endless Slug to make a new cover painting for us on this one because the original just wasn't very good - for several reasons. Slug is more than happy to replace it. However, when I was doing the mock-up cover for the last KS update, I cropped the original cover and realized that it might be just fine like that... While it was on my screen, Nick happened by and agreed. I think we'll just go with the cropped original painting!

Newsletter Info

I haven't done newsletters in almost 20 years, at least regularly. With Johnny Rook, I hope to keep a constant stream of updates that are informative for our readers but also not spamming your inboxes. As we get moving here, newsletters may be sparse but I will at least attempt to keep them arriving in a timely and predictable fashion. Currently, I'm thinking quarterly newsletters will suffice with the occasional bonus one when we do something special such as launching the Kickstarters. Hopefully, this is agreeable to everyone. We have a great deal of new books coming though, including completely new RPG systems, and as this all develops, the newsletters may increase in frequency. In any case, thank you for subscribing and I hope to bring you meaningful newsletter content in all of our future correspondences. Game on!
Until April(ish)...
